Antiphase dynamics in multimode lasers: analytic results

Abstract

Recently a number of papers have dealt with the problem of antiphase dynamics in nonlinear optics.1–6 It seems that a necessary property that a system must possess to display antiphase dynamics is cross saturation. Our analytic work has concentrated on the study of antiphase dynamics in the transient evolution towards the stable steady state of a N-mode laser in a Fabry-Perot cavity described by the rate equations
