Abstract

Dissociative resonance Raman spectroscopy (DRRS) has become a uniquely sharp tool for investigating the femtosecond dynamics of photodissociating molecules.1 A conventional emission scan cannot provide the whole picture; to extract, quantitative information about the reaction dynamics, the Raman scattering as a function of excitation wavelength is extremely important. Previously, this Raman excitation profile (REP) has been obtained by patching together data points from a multitude of emission scans, but this has proved to be tedious and seriously inadequate.
