Abstract

In last two years the interest in organic multiple quantum wells has grown very rapidly due to the peculiar properties of these superlattices in potential enhancement of non-linear optical susceptibility for applications in photonic devices. Up to now a few systems consisting in large organic molecules, based on perylene and naphtalene derivatives [1], and conjugated copolymer materials with periodic aromatic and quinoidal structures [2] have been synthesized and optically characterized.
