Abstract

Femtosecond four-wave mixing is a widely used experimental technique for studying the coherent dynamics of excitons in semiconductor heterostructures.1 The experimental results are usually interpreted in the framework of an excitonic picture that neglects the exciton-photon interaction.2,3 In the present paper we discuss the influence of the exciton-photon coupling, i.e., the polariton nature of the exciton.
