Abstract

The ongoing revolution in femtosecond laser pulse generation has been highlighted by advances in modelocked Ti:Al2O3 lasers. Ti:Al2O3 features a broad gain bandwidth and high energy storage. Using Kerr lens modelocking, pulse durations as short as a few tens of femtoseconds with average powers of up to 2 W have been generated at repetition rates of 100 MHz.1
