ZnSe-based semiconductor structures remain likely candidates for the fabrication of optical devices involving blue-light emission. For many of these structures, strain effects and quantum confinement may prove to be extremely important. This study examines the effects of strain on the electronic properties of ZnSe through the use of spectroscopic techniques.
