Abstract

Recent studies on multiphoton excitation of molecular hydrogen in intense fields have shown above-threshold ionization as well as above-threshold dissociation phenomena.1-2 In an effort to further explore the response of molecular hydrogen to very intense laser fields we have recorded photoelectron- and proton-energy spectra in H2 by using an intense and tunable short pulse laser. Data obtained in the wavelength ranges from 308 to 330 nm and from 610 to 670 nm will be presented.
