Abstract
There has been great recent interest in the optical properties of one-dimensional electron gas.1-3 An enhancement of the optical absorption of the two-dimensional electron gas near the Fermi energy has previously been observed, known as the Fermi edge singularity (FES).4–7 We observe an FES in one-dimensional electron gas for the first time.
