Optical bistability and random structures in a molecular gas under the absorption of laser radiation

Abstract

The effect of resonant optical radiation on high vibrational levels of molecules is considered within the framework of the harmonic oscillator model. The calculation is performed for a diffusionally, thermally, and optically thin layer at a constant and periodically changing flux of the resonant radiation.
