Abstract

One of the more interesting wiggler-free free electron lasers (FELs) is the uniform magnetic field FEL whose on-axis radiation (where the axis direction coincides with the direction of the magnetic field) essentially has Doppler-shifted cyclotron frequencies.1,2 As is the case with the usual wiggler FEL,3 the uniform magnetic field FEL has no on-axis higher harmonic emission.
