Abstract
Most uses of conjugated polymers in nonlinear optical devices require knowledge of the intensity- dependent refractive index, defined by n= n0 + n2I, where n0 is the linear index, and / is the light intensity. We have developed a technique1 which allows for time-resolved measurements (to distinguish between thermal and electronic nonlinearities) of n2.
