Abstract

Semiconductor clusters of a few to hundreds of angstroms (i.e., quantum dots) and regular arrays of such clusters can be synthesized in various dielectrics such as polymers and zeolites. We describe different approaches to synthesize such clusters and discuss their photophysical and nonlinear optical properties.
