Abstract

This article discusses a chemo- mechanical- optical sensing approach for detection of toxic Chromium metal ion in environment. Stimulus responsive hydrogel which swell/deswell depending on ambient chromium ion concentrations, is agglutinated on Long period grating (LPG) surface. The sensor shows good sensitivity for Chromium.
