Dual Resonance Long-Period Gratings in Microstructured Optical Fibers

Abstract

We report an extremely sensitive refractive index sensor based on long period gratings in microstructured optical fibers, and demonstrate ultra-high sensitivity (~2500 nm/RIU) over biologically relevant refractive index range of 1.333–1.335.
