Random Bit Generation from Optical Chaos in Symmetric Erbium-doped Fiber Ring Laser

Abstract

We describe a high-speed random bit generator using optical chaos in symmetric erbium-doped fiber laser. The extracted random bits exhibit low autocorrelation (< 10−4) at 4 Gbps and have successfully passed all Diehard battery of tests.
