Variable Optical Attenuator Using X-Shaped Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator

Abstract

A simulation model of C-band Variable Optical Attenuator using X-shaped photonic crystal ring resonator is proposed. Tuning is achieved through refractive index variation. An attenuation of 30dB is achieved for 0.0022 change in refractive index.
