Abstract
Biogenic silver nanoparticles and gold nanotriangles were synthesized by a simple method using Trigonella foenum-graecum leaf extract acts as reducing and stabilizing agent and confirmed by using UV-Vis spectrum. The morphology and crystallinity of spherical silver nanoparticles and gold nanotriangles were observed in TEM. Luminescence properties of Eu(TTFA)3 and Sm(TTFA)3 complex were examined in the presence of silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) and gold nanotriangles (Au NTs). The luminescence intensity of the complex solutions were enhanced in the presence of silver nanoparticles, but only at particular concentration of Ag and quenching at all other concentration of Ag. In case of gold nanotriangles, interestingly we observed luminescence intensity enhancement instead of quenching, only at particular concentration of Au. Ag NPs and Au NTs act as optical limiters.
