On the Stability of Raman Fiber Lasers

Abstract

We propose a physical mechanism behind recent, unexplained observations of deleterious temporal instability that arises in Raman fiber lasers. We modelled the process and were able to simulate the threshold for instability at different pump-wavelengths.
