Atmospheric Turbulence Effects on Link Performance for Underwater-Airborne Laser Communication

Abstract

This paper reports atmospheric turbulence effects on a Gaussian laser beam from an airborne platform to a submerged vessels in deep sea. Beam wander, beam spreading and scintillations effects have been considered for bit-error-rate (BER) analysis.
