Comparison of electric dipole and quadrupole effects in interaction of Laguerre-Gaussian beams with Bose-Einstein Condensate

Abstract

We present numerical calculations comparing electric dipole and quadrupole Rabi frequencies in interaction of a Laguerre-Guassian beam with atomic Bose-Einstein condensate. Dependence of the Rabi frequencies on winding number of the light beam is studied.
