Tailoring photon number distributions in classical light sources

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Using acousto-optic interaction, we create, from laser light, classical light sources with desired photon number distributions, Gaussian or non-Gaussian. In conjuction with photon addition techniques, Single Photon Added non-Gaussian (SPANG) states may be created.
