Multimode Interference Based Planar Optical Waveguide Biosensor

Abstract

We propose a planar optical waveguide biosensor based on multimode interference, which can easily be integrated with other fiber optic-devices. The proposed sensor has extremely high sensitivity (1900 nm/RIU) around communication wavelength (1.55 µm).
