Gold Assisted Plasmonic Resonance in Polymeric Opals

Abstract

Three different photonic crystals where gold is coated, doped or infiltrated into polymeric opals are studied. The localized surface plasmon resonance of gold suppressing the stop band features at appropriate angles of incidence is discussed.
