Abstract

A Fiber Optic sensor for the measurement of total cholesterol has been designed and developed. The chitosan coated Long Period Grating (LPG) sensor developed, showed good stability and repeatable performance. The sensor also showed good linear response in the measured range of cholesterol levels, which is highly desirable for a commercial cholesterol sensor.
