Experimental demonstration of all-optical header recognition system using logic gates

Abstract

An optical header recognition system is experimentally implemented using an optical XNOR gate followed by an optical AND gate. The XNOR gate works as a comparator and is implemented using a 3-dB coupler; the AND gate is implemented using four-wave mixing in SOA.
