All-Optical Level Regeneration Using Two Cascaded Semiconductor Saturable Absorber

Abstract

All-optical level regeneration of a 40 Gb/s distorted RZ signal has been studied theoretically using two cascaded semiconductor saturable absorber. The regenerated signal that obtained from the simulated result exhibits a very high extinction ratio (> 20 dB).
