Engineering Terahertz Propagation Properties Using Plasmonic Metamaterials on Silicon

Abstract

Planar terahertz waveguides employing plasmonic metamaterials on heavily doped silicon substrates are designed, fabricated and characterized. The guided mode properties are engineered with the geometrical parameters of the structures and dopant concentration in silicon.
