Abstract

A prototype fiber optic current sensor (FOCS) based on Sagnac interferometer is designed and tested for monitoring of current up to 4000 amperes for electric power industry application. Sensor is tested for nominal current one ampere as well as current up to eight hundred amperes. The output of sensor has nonlinearity of ±0.5% is presented.
