Spiral-Shaped Microdisk Resonator Channel Drop/Add Filters: Asymmetry in Modal Distributions

Abstract

We report experiments and simulations of spiral-shaped microdisk resonator channel drop/add filters with a non-evanescently-coupled waveguide at the spiral notch. We observe asymmetry in modal distributions between the drop/add filters at the same resonance wavelengths.
