Upconversion Mechanisms in Semiconductor Core/Rod/Dot Nanostructures for High-Efficiency Photovoltaics

Abstract

We use steady-state and time-resolved photoluminescence to analyze the upconversion process in which carriers absorb multiple low-energy photons and emit higher-energy photons. We consider and compare core, core/rod, and core/rod/dot nanostructures.
