Abstract
Manipulation of the photoelectrode surfaces in photoelectrochemical (PEC) cells is one method to enhance the photocatalytic activity of the cells. Surface manipulation can affect both the efficiency and reliability of metal oxide photoelectrodes through the adjustment of the properties of the interface between the electrodes and the electrolyte. In this study, the exposed surfaces were modified by controlling the pH of the bath during electrodeposition.
