Theory of Spatially Separated Carrier Multiplication in Semiconductor Quantum Dots

Abstract

A theory of multi-exciton states in neighboring quantum dots is developed and the dynamics of the carrier multiplication is clarified. Theoretical simulations confirm the instantaneous creation of an exciton in the spatially separated quantum dots.
