Fluorescent Borate Glasses as Potential Substrates for CdTe Thin Film Solar Cells

Abstract

Sm3+-doped barium borate glasses are investigated for their potential as superstrate for CdTe solar cells. A 3.2 mm thick, 1 mol% Sm3+-doped glass superstrate enables an increase in the external quantum efficiency of approximately 2%.
