Omnidirectional Broadband Scattering in Metal-Dielectric Colloidal Photonic Hetero-Crystals

Abstract

Colloidal photonic heterocrystals combined with corrugated metal films were suggested as light traps, where broadband scattering is provided by mode mismatch between photonic crystals of different symmetries and lossy surface plasmon polaritons.
