High Radix Optical Switch Solutions for Fiber Layer Virtualisation

Abstract

We discuss scaling of DirectLight low-loss free space optical switch technology to 384×384 fiber ports. Recent advances enabling virtualisation of dark fiber connectivity between 50,000+ endpoints and for multi-core/multimode switching are discussed.
