Optimum Power-budget Allocation for Large-scale Optical Switches Utilizing Cyclic Arrayed Waveguide Gratings

Abstract

This paper elucidates the optimum power-budget allocation for large-scale optical switches based on cyclic AWGs. Simulation results show that a 1,000×1,000 switch scale can be attained with 23-dB optical-power margin.
