Abstract

We have experimentally demonstrated simultaneous reduction of timing jitter and pulse width of gain-switched (GS) pulses from a 1.55 μm-wavelength single-mode (SM) vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) with an external weak laser beam injection at both of its main and side modes of parallel and perpendicular polarizations, respectively.
