Materials for infrared surface plasmon resonance biosensor

Abstract

Silicides, heavily-doped semiconductors, and semimetals are investigated theoretically and experimentally as surface plasmon hosts for infrared surface plasmon resonance biosensors. Tighter IR mode confinement than for usual Au gives better overlap with biological analytes.
