Abstract
This paper describes holographic optical coherence imaging of cellular motility in living, diseased and pharmacologically treated tissue. The coherence gate is a photorefractive quantum well device that facilitates the elimination of multiply scattered light from the tissue. To accomplish high-fidelity functional imaging of metabolic activity at depth within the tissue, spatial coherence in the illuminating beam must be controlled to reduce channel cross-talk. We show results for rat osteogenic sarcoma tumor spheroids.
