KTP Optical Parametric Amplifier pumped by High Power Passively Q-switched Microchip Laser

Abstract

We report subnanosecond passively Q-switched 1.57 μm laser, based on diode-pumped YAG: Nd / YAG: Cr4+ microchip with intracavity KTP bulk crystal as double pass OPA. Pumped by 18 W, 400 μm 0.22 NA fiber coupled laser diode array, this laser produced 240 μJ, 450 ps pulses at 1.57μm with peak power 530kW.
