Abstract

Doping ZnO and Fe2O3 in LiNbO3, a series of near-stoichiometric Zn: Fe:LiNbO3 (SLN) crystals with ZnO doping concentration of 0, 1mol%, 2mol% and 3mol% were grown by the conventional Czochralski method with a composition of Li/Nb=58/42. The photo damage resistance ability of the samples was measured by the focula distortion method. The photorefractive properties such as the writing time, erasure time, diffraction efficiency, exponential gain coefficient, dynamic range and sensitivity of the samples were experimentally studied by using two-beam coupling. The results showed that the writing time, exponential gain coefficient, dynamic range, sensitivity and photo damage resistance ability are all better than those of Fe:LiNbO3 crystal.
