Optical potential analysis for metallic particles using three-dimensional nano-position sensing

Abstract

Femto-Newton-order forces exerted on single metallic particles were observed with use of three-dimensional nanometer position sensing and thermodynamical analyses. Evanescent-field-induced radiation pressure acting on gold particles was elucidated.
