Aggregation phenomena in petroleum colloids studied by dynamic light scattering

Abstract

Aggregation kinetics of asphaltenes in hydrocarbon solutions and in crude oils has been investigated. Crossover between diffusion-limited aggregation and reaction-limited aggregation, as well as a colloidal structure in some crude oils, has been observed.
