Coupling Multi-cycle Terahertz Pulses onto a Metal Wire Waveguide Using a Subwavelength Coaxial Aperture

Abstract

We demonstrate a flexible approach for coupling multi-cycle terahertz pulses onto a metal wire. This is accomplished by inserting the wire into the center of a circular subwavelength aperture fabricated in a free-standing metal foil.
