Non-destructive Terahertz Testing of Textured Liquid Crystal Polymers

Abstract

The texture of liquid crystal polymer (LCP) components determines their mechanical properties. Here, we demonstrate that the molecular alignment in injection molded LCP parts can be determined by their birefringence in the terahertz range.
