Impact of transmitted and reflected lights on medical imaging in a parallel-plane diffuse optical tomography system for breast cancer detection

Abstract

We present phantom experimental results based on a parallel-plane DOT system for breast cancer imaging. Three source/detector patterns are compared. For the first time, we demonstrate that the transmission model provides the best image quality.
