Abstract

Monte Carlo simulations were used to determine the contrast-to-noise ratio of acousto-optical tomographic imaging with slow light filters versus possible imaging depth. Both reflection and transmission setups were considered. The theoretical model showed that imaging through 12 cm of breast tissue could be plausible.
