Biomechanical changes in early-stage corneal disease and post-crosslinking measured in vivo with Brillouin microscopy

Abstract

Current instruments lack the biomechanical sensitivity required for early detection of eye diseases such as keratoconus. Here, we demonstrate the diagnostic potential of Brillouin light-scattering microscopy, a technique for spatially-resolved biomechanical measurement, in a study of ~100 subjects.
