Optical spectroscopy facilitated characterization of acute atrial lesions

Abstract

A novel method for characterizing RFA lesions in atrial tissue is presented based on optical spectroscopic sensing of tissue endogenous metmyoglobin content. We validate this approach through real-time measurements in ex vivo swine atrial samples.
