Radiative and Convective Transport in Solar Volumetric Absorbers

Abstract

Optimization of solar volumetric absorbers for high-temperature CSP involves complex interactions of radiative transport vs. convection. Candidate structures are analyzed, and possible paths are identified to high absorber efficiency exceeding 90% at temperatures >1000°C.
